I recently was given to opportunity to correspond with Archbishop Isao Kikuchi, the head of the Tokyo Diocese, one of the most senior members of the Japanese Catholic clergy, and the former bishop of my own diocese in Niigata.
We discussed Shintoism, evangelizing the spiritually apathetic public of Japan, getting lapsed Japanese back in the churches, and much more.
Our correspondence is on-going, and you can expect a lot of articles about our conversations in the future.
